Kristan Baggaley
A large proportion of Kristan’s work is based on still life; often using flowers cut from his garden and selected subjects that he has collected over the years. His images are not simply about the objects themselves, but he is fascinated by the colour and relationship that they have within their surroundings.
Colour is an overriding influence in his work and he finds his own individual expression between figurative and abstract painting. His aim is to create a personal way of seeing various objects and then interpreting and recreating such items in paint.
Kristan still feels a rush of excitement when he opens his pallet of colours; the love of using colour and pushing it around the canvas captivates his interest on a daily basis.
